Keep up with the Graves as they travel to Spain and beyond.

The Pace of Travel

Before we left for our travels, we decided we wanted a way to document our trip beyond the shared Photo Stream. This blog and the Instagram account @gravesenespana are meant to do just that. I am writing this in Brussels, with only four days until we arrive in Spain, having spent 81 days on the road and having posted only five times. And three of those were about home!

I find that the pace of travel and living out of a suitcase make it difficult for me to have the time and energy to document our adventures the way I originally wanted. So now I will jump ahead with the promise that I will get back to writing about all the fantastic sights and experiences we had between Italy and now.

One of the things I have wanted is a list of all the major cities we have visited and the transportation method we used to get there.

Denver 🛬 Newark 🛬 Milan 🚖 Como 🚊 Florence 🚊 Milan 🛬 Paris 🚊 Caen 🛬Montpellier 🚊 Geneva 🚊 Lausanne 🚖 Vitznau 🚊 Zurich 🚊 Zagreb 🚖 Zadar 🚖Dubrovnik 🛬 Dublin  🚖 Galway 🚖 Killarney 🚖 Cork 🚖 Dublin 🛬 Amsterdam 🚊Brussels 🚊 Paris 🛬 Malaga 🚖 Estepona

That is 24 cities in 85 days. That doesn't include all the shorter day trips we made to places like Evian, Bellagio, Voorthuizen, Kilbeggan, Cobh, Lauterbrunnen, Skradin.

The pace that we have been maintaining for the last 3 months is intense. I am consistently impressed with the kids and their ability to adapt and go with the flow. Everyone is in good spirits and even though we have enjoyed this pace, we are looking forward to settling down in our new Estapona home for the next 10 months.

I love these two pictures of George taking a break in the Amsterdam train station. He is exhausted from a late night partying with new friends. Yet he was up and a good sport about getting all packed up to leave for yet another train trip. Still smiling.
