That date is May 6th, 2022. Day, month, year. I started trying to adapt to the Spanish date format and the 24-hour time over two years ago. While this is the first entry in this journal, this is far from the start of our adventure. Four years ago, Alex and I sat on the front porch of our home in Denver and decided to take a year off of our regular work and school lives and live abroad. I found the Google Doc just now, dated 05/05/2018. It was fun to think back on that day four years ago and the mountains of work it took to get to it. Tomorrow all five of us will arrive that the Spanish Consulate in Los Angeles to pick up our residency visas. We are spending the long weekend with family, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying the sense of accomplishment and relief that we have achieved this milestone.
